England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the 2025 Young Sports Personality of the Year award.

The trio have been recognised for their exceptional achievements over the past 12 months.

Agyemang helped the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the first time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a unprecedented innings.

Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his remarkable rise.

The shortlisted athletes were unveiled on a national radio breakfast show.

The 2025 recipient will be unveiled on the prestigious sports ceremony show on Thursday, 18 December.

The ceremony will be aired from 7 PM GMT.

Agyemang's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Just three months after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to European Championship victory.

She entered the fray to score vital last-gasp goals in both the last eight and last four matches.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.

Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the best young player in Europe.

She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.

Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.

"To be named a finalist for this honour is incredible," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler's 2025 began in spectacular fashion as - while still 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.

His success continued - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the very first time.

At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, breaking the previous record.

"Being nominated for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a big honour," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a special memory for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."

The Cricket Sensation

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and rose to fame with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.

It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin finished second in the run-scoring charts and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.

"I'm truly honoured to be nominated for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it motivates more young women to get into cricket."
