Mohamed Salah Issues Statement to Squad, Says Curtis Jones
Jones has shared that the Egyptian forward expressed regret to the group of players in the wake of the uproar from his public comments.

Salah was left out from a key Champions League match subsequent to criticising the club and suggesting his relationship with manager had broken down.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, please accept my apology.’”
The manager has previously declined to comment publicly on whether he received a personal apology from the 33-year-old forward.
Looking Ahead
Jones insisted that the team's response stayed normal. “He was the exact same Mo, his demeanour was positive and everybody was exactly the same with him,” Jones added.
Jones also suggested that a player's desire to start is preferable. “I understand there are different methods you can handle situations,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just not start, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Positive Results
The team's performance have remained strong in the matches since the situation. The player is convinced the forward's comments were not designed to harm the team.
“If passion has boiled over, the source has been from a desire to win,” Jones concluded. “That chapter is closed and we’re building chemistry, getting results and securing victories.”
